One unforgettable year

There’s a lot that can happen in a year and, if you’re anything like us, your 2019 was filled with exciting opportunities, brilliant adventures, and friends both old and new. With all the spectacular feats everyone at Cambridge Commodities accomplished in the past year, we believe the experiences we have enjoyed as a part of our long-time partnership with the Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT) deserve a special mention.

As the only registered charity supporting innovation in patient care across the Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, ACT has been a stalwart supporter of both those in need and those with the power to help them. Cambridge Commodities is honoured to count ourselves among those ranks, and we were all too thrilled to put that sense of responsibility to the test raising money for ACT’s coffers throughout the previous year.

From embarking on a bicycle-mounted climb up the cobbled roads of Flanders to hosting a charity ball that drew donations from businesses and individuals alike, we have devoted ourselves to generating as much awareness and goodwill for our friends at ACT as we possibly could and are ecstatic to inform you of just how much our concerted efforts have done for the patients, staff and families of the Addenbrooke’s Hospital.

With 2019 well behind us and 2020 offering a wealth of new chances to let our flag fly. Cambridge Commodities can stand proud knowing that we raised £107,000 for ACT!

Where is that money going? So far there have been discussions of an innovation fund which would provide a unique platform for the medical staff and students at Addenbrooke’s to propose their own ideas for bettering the lives and healthcare of those admitted at the hospital. What’s more is that everyone who chipped in went above and beyond the call of duty, ensuring that everyone staying at Addenbrooke’s had their very own present to unwrap on Christmas Day.

We know we couldn’t have done it without everyone who donated to or attended our charity events over the past year, so we’d like to extend our overflowing gratitude to each and every one of you. Thanks to your kindness, 2019 was a year to remember for those who cannot be forgotten. We hope you’ll keep the good times rolling in 2020 as we set out to raise even more funds with the love and support of even more people like you.

Thank you.
